1st complete assignment

The spring semester is here after a long winter break. Already I have several reading assignments that must be done by Tuesday morning. So far I have completed one. I feel so accomplished by this-- in spite of how behind I am-- because last semester I would have looked on Spark Notes. But this semester is different. I want to feel like I learned this semester. I want to suck the marrow out of these books. So the assignment I completed was for my Studies in English Literature class which was to read parts I and II of Treasure Island. The class itself might be my favorite of the semester because the professor seems quirky and really into the material. The theme of the class is "Victorian Adventure Fiction." Ooh la la. Treasure Island has been an adventure. It has kept me turning those pages and it's getting better. I stopped at the point where Jim Hawkins tells the doctor, squire, and captain about the awful things he accidentally overhead from Long John Silver's mouth. I'll post about the rest later, and I hope it is not after I have read spark notes for the remaining parts of the book. I won't do it. To hell with Spark Notes. I will not succumb to your tempting calls!
